Sara Update Week Ending June 9, 2001

Hello Everyone,

Well, Sara has been busy. First, there are pictures on the website www.alanandvictoria.com from Memorial Day so check them out. What a cutie!

Memorial Day was our first trip away with Sara. She had a great time, took a lot of walks with us, slept, relaxed, ate -- all the great "vacation" activities. She did not like her porta-crib, so she slept in the bed with us. Boy, did she like that. She showed the first signs of stranger anxiety, but that mostly went away when we got home.

Sara can now climb the entire staircase. Mom watches and makes sure she doesn't fall, but the rest Sara does all on her own.

Sara waved on command for the first time this week and melted Papa's heart when she waived goodbye as he left for his business trip. Almost enough to keep him home...almost.

Sara used the patio chair to stand up. That's not so unusual since Sara can use anything to stand. What's new this week is that she used the chair as a walker. Meaning, she stood up holding the chair, pushed the chair forward, took two steps, pushed the chair, took two steps, pushed the chair, well you get the idea. She only stopped when the chair finally hit the back wall and stopped moving forward.

With freedom comes responsibility and Sara has given mom a couple of scares. This week Sara pulled a garbage can on top of her, pulled a large mirror on top of her, pulled a gate on top of her, has bumped her head, has wobbled while standing on concrete and headed out the door and kept on going. Go Sara!

We love our petunia.

Enjoy the week! Alan and Victoria
